Shymkent-based young athlete Diyar Amanali has won the U17 World Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling held in Hungary, bringing home a gold medal for Kazakhstan.
A Shymkent entrepreneur congratulated the young champion on his achievement and presented him with a car. Diyar was also awarded an educational grant to study at a higher education institution, giving him an opportunity to combine his studies with professional sports training.
The coaching staff who played a major role in preparing the young wrestler for the championship also received financial awards.
Diyar Amanali’s path to becoming a world champion was the result of 10 years of continuous training. At the world championship, the Shymkent wrestler competed in five bouts and won every one of them. His opponents represented Greece, Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria and Hungary.
In the quarterfinals, Diyar defeated a wrestler from Greece. He then overcame a Bulgarian opponent in the semifinals before facing a Hungarian athlete in the final, where he secured the victory and claimed the world title.
“To achieve this victory, Diyar trained tirelessly for ten years. Of course, his coach also made an enormous contribution. This outstanding result was made possible by the young athlete’s determination and hard work,” said Yermek Baiduashev, Director of the Sports School.
Diyar Amanali’s victory serves as an inspiration for the younger generation. The support he has received will provide additional motivation as he pursues new sporting achievements.
The young athlete’s next goal is to reach the Olympic summit.
