Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva has congratulated young people across the country on International Youth Day.
“Youth is the main driving force behind Kazakhstan’s development. Today, more than 5.8 million young people live in our country, accounting for almost one-third of the population. It is you who will shape the future of our state,” she said.
According to Aida Balayeva, the development of human capital, education, science and innovation has been enshrined in the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan as one of the country’s key development priorities. She noted that this is an important signal and a strong motivation for young people, opening up new opportunities for self-realization, professional growth and active participation in building a Just Kazakhstan.
At the initiative of the Head of State, Kazakhstan’s youth policy has received a new impetus. The upper age limit for youth was increased to 35, significantly expanding the number of young people eligible for government support.
Today, young Kazakhstanis have greater opportunities to receive quality education, find employment, start their own businesses, purchase housing, develop volunteering and participate actively in public life.
These measures are already producing tangible results. More than 5,400 young Kazakhstanis have received government support through the preferential housing loan programs “Nauryz” and “Otau.” In addition, more than 7,200 young families and specialists have acquired their own homes through regional housing programs.
Under the “Zhasyl El” project, more than 35,000 young people have been provided with seasonal employment this year. Every year, talented young people receive “Tauelsizdik Urpaktary” grants to implement their own projects, while the “Daryn” State Youth Award recognizes outstanding representatives of the younger generation.
Aida Balayeva also emphasized the importance of youth participation in the country’s public life. Thousands of young Kazakhstanis are involved in volunteering, implement social initiatives and participate in the “Taza Kazakhstan” environmental campaign, making a tangible contribution to society and strengthening national values.
Today, Kazakhstan has more than 400 youth organizations and 235 youth resource centers, providing young people with opportunities for personal and professional development.
Kazakhstan is also steadily advancing its digital transformation, adopting cutting-edge technologies and developing artificial intelligence. According to the Minister, the younger generation will play a key role in driving these changes, developing new solutions, advancing domestic science and technology entrepreneurship, and strengthening the country’s competitiveness.
She also highlighted the upcoming elections to the Kurultai as an important historical stage for Kazakhstan. The presence of numerous young candidates on party lists, she noted, demonstrates the growing civic engagement of young people and their readiness to take responsibility and participate in shaping the country’s future.
“Your knowledge, energy, responsibility and determination to make the world a better place are our greatest investment. We are truly proud of you and believe in your abilities, initiative and desire to create. May new opportunities always open up before you, and may your achievements become achievements for all of Kazakhstan. Happy International Youth Day!” Aida Balayeva said.
