President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Omsk Military Hospital for War Veterans, where he paid tribute to the memory of World War II participants and laid flowers at a memorial plaque dedicated to his father, front-line soldier Kemel Tokayev.

Omsk Hospital Played an Important Role During the War
The Omsk Military Hospital is one of the historically significant medical institutions associated with the events of the Great Patriotic War. Since July 1941, nearly 150,000 servicemen wounded on the front lines received treatment and rehabilitation there.
Among the hospital’s patients was the father of the President of Kazakhstan, Kemel Tokayev. After being wounded, he received medical treatment at this hospital from February to June 1945.
