Kazakhstan is stepping up efforts to strengthen its workforce by expanding vocational training programs aimed at preparing specialists for the country’s evolving labor market.
The initiative remains one of the key priorities of the government’s employment policy, helping to equip citizens with in-demand skills while supporting sustainable economic growth.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as of July 1, 2026, a total of 3,741 people had been enrolled in vocational training programs. This represents a 20% increase compared to the same period last year, when 3,049 people participated in similar programs.
Training Focused on Labor Market Needs
The vocational training programs are designed around occupations and specialties that are currently in demand among employers. Educational institutions work closely with businesses to ensure that training reflects real labor market requirements and qualification standards.
The programs last up to six months, providing participants with practical knowledge and professional skills that can be applied immediately in the workplace. Course content is regularly updated to meet employers’ expectations and the changing needs of Kazakhstan’s economy.
Creating New Employment Opportunities
Vocational education enables participants to acquire new competencies, improve their qualifications, or retrain for entirely new professions. The initiative is intended to increase citizens’ competitiveness in the labor market while creating better employment opportunities across the country.

National Qualifications System Continues to Develop
Alongside vocational training, Kazakhstan continues to modernize its National Qualifications System.
