Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Saparbekov took part in the panel session titled “Industrial Cooperation as a Factor of Sustainable Development of Russia and Kazakhstan”, held as part of the 22nd Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia in Omsk.
During his speech, the Deputy Minister presented current indicators of Kazakh-Russian industrial cooperation, information on joint investment projects, government support measures for investors, and mechanisms aimed at developing industrial partnerships between the two countries.
Russia remains one of the top three largest investors in Kazakhstan’s economy. By the end of 2025, the volume of direct Russian investment amounted to $2.9 billion, while the total volume of investments since 2005 reached approximately $29 billion.
The industrial cooperation portfolio between Kazakhstan and Russia includes 177 joint projects with a total value of $52.7 billion, which are expected to create around 60,000 jobs. Of these, 122 projects worth $22.4 billion have already been implemented.
The participants also discussed existing government support measures for investors, including opportunities provided by special economic and industrial zones, as well as financing mechanisms for cooperation projects within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The development of industrial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia remains one of the key areas of bilateral economic partnership, aimed at strengthening production ties, attracting investment, and creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
