The head of state met with the President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Morinari Watanabe and the President of the Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) Abdulrahman Al-Shatri.
During the conversation, the perspective of cooperation on the development and promotion of gymnastics sports in the country was discussed. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appreciated the comprehensive support of the FIG and AGU organizations to the Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation. The President noted that gymnastics has become increasingly popular among children and young people in the country today. In addition to many local gyms, there are three special complexes where the national team trains and international competitions are organized. Apart from that, the construction of the largest and unique Gymnastics Center in Central Asia was started in Almaty city by the order of the Head of State. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan has gained considerable experience in holding large-scale sports events. The head of state confirmed that the country is ready to consider joint initiatives for the development of sports and holding major international competitions. Morinari Watanabe and Abdulrahman Al-Shatri gave a positive assessment of the support shown by the leadership of Kazakhstan to professional and mass sports. The guests paid special attention to the success of Kazakhstani athletes who are promoting the glory of our country in the world arenas.
