As part of the implementation of the Head of State’s instruction on the reconstruction of Arkalyk Airport, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan carried out the necessary work to obtain an international IATA code for the airport.
Following the completion of the relevant procedures, on August 12, 2026, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) officially assigned Arkalyk Airport the three-letter code AYK.
The code serves as a unique identifier for the airport and will enable Arkalyk Airport to be integrated into international air ticket booking and issuance systems, flight schedules, as well as other global information systems used in civil aviation.
The assignment of the IATA code marks an important step in the development of Arkalyk Airport and its integration into the international aviation infrastructure.
