A commemorative event dedicated to the Day of the Border Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Zhetisay District on August 18.
The professional holiday, which was previously celebrated on May 29, has been observed on August 18 since 2012. The day pays tribute to military personnel who protect Kazakhstan’s state border and contribute to the country’s security and territorial integrity.
Kazakhstan’s Border Service was established in 1992. Service on the state border requires constant vigilance, strict discipline, operational readiness, endurance and the ability to respond effectively to any situation.
The ceremony was held in the central park of Zhetisay. The event was attended by District Akim Serik Mamytov, Chairman of the District Maslikhat Medet Kassymov, heads of relevant government agencies, border guard personnel, service veterans and local residents.
Congratulating the military personnel on their professional holiday, the district akim highlighted the important role of the Border Service in safeguarding national security and protecting the country’s borders.
A number of servicemen who have demonstrated dedication and professionalism in protecting the state border received letters of appreciation from the district akim.
The celebration also featured performances by local artists, who presented patriotic songs and created an uplifting atmosphere for residents and guests.
Border guards also held a demonstration for the public, showcasing operational response techniques and hand-to-hand combat skills used during their service. Their coordinated movements, discipline and professional training demonstrated their readiness to protect the country’s borders.
The event concluded with video presentations highlighting the importance of guarding the state border and the responsibility and honor associated with serving the country and protecting its frontiers.
