The Railway Station in Sarybel Has Been Renovated
in the Karaganda Region
The reconstruction of the railway station at Sarybel station in the Karaganda Region has been completed. The renovated facility has become a modern transport hub, providing comfortable and safe conditions for passengers and ensuring compliance with current requirements for the quality and accessibility of infrastructure.
As part of the project, a comprehensive reconstruction of the station building, which was built in 1965, was carried out. Following the renovation, the total area of the facility is 487.4 square meters. The station is now a modern single-story building equipped with the necessary engineering infrastructure and meeting contemporary passenger service standards.
During the reconstruction, roofing installation, exterior and interior finishing works, and the construction of external and internal engineering networks for water supply, sewage, heating, and electricity were completed. The project also included the renovation of the platform, landscaping of the surrounding area, and the installation of new equipment and modern furniture.
Special attention was paid to the quality and safety of the facility. The station facade was finished with modern fiber cement panels, while durable, fire-resistant, and easy-to-clean materials produced domestically were used for interior finishing. In accordance with fire safety requirements, new evacuation routes and emergency exits were installed.
The railway station at Sarybel station belongs to the category of Type 1 stations. Twelve passenger trains pass through the station daily, providing transport connections with Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Kostanay, and Pavlodar.
The renovation of the Sarybel railway station is part of a large-scale effort to modernize Kazakhstan’s railway infrastructure. The implementation of such projects is aimed at improving the quality of transport services, enhancing regional connectivity, and creating comfortable conditions for residents and visitors of the Karaganda Region.
