The Department of Emergency Situations of Shymkent is carrying out comprehensive preventive measures on a regular basis to ensure the safety of residents during the swimming season.
Official areas for mass recreation, tourism and sports activities near water bodies have been designated across the city. These include specially equipped recreational areas where residents can swim safely. At the same time, dangerous areas where swimming is prohibited have been identified, with warning signs installed at these locations. Work is currently underway to expand the number of designated hazardous areas.
Department representatives regularly meet with owners of recreational facilities located near water bodies. During these meetings, they provide guidance on compliance with water safety rules and discuss the need to properly equip recreation areas with the necessary safety infrastructure.
During the swimming season, the Rescue Service operates in an enhanced mode. Rescuers are equipped with the necessary watercraft, communication devices and loudspeakers. In addition, a mobile rescue post has been set up at the “Raisky Plyazh” recreation area on the Togus Reservoir, where specialists are on duty on a permanent basis.
Before the start of the swimming season, the bottoms of official beaches were inspected and cleaned. Necessary inspections were also conducted to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
To promote a culture of safe behavior around water, the Department, together with police authorities, local executive bodies and volunteers, is conducting extensive information and awareness campaigns.
Regular patrols and raids, interactive and open lessons in educational institutions, practical training sessions and classroom discussions are being held. These preventive measures are aimed at raising public awareness and preventing accidents at water bodies during the swimming season.
