In 2026, Shymkent plans to involve 31,398 people in employment support measures.
During the first seven months of the year, 24,731 people were covered, representing 78.8% of the annual target.
Of those, 15,964 people were employed in permanent positions, while another 2,440 people were placed in temporary jobs. In addition, 6,327 people were referred for vocational training through an online platform.
The Labor Mobility Center provided employment support measures to 15,302 people. In vocational education, the initial target was to send 3,660 people for training. However, 3,785 citizens were actually referred, bringing the target fulfillment rate to 103.4%.
As part of entrepreneurship development measures, support was planned for 2,530 people. In practice, 2,645 citizens received assistance, exceeding the target by 4.5%.
Under the Bastau Business project, 2,130 people were expected to receive training in the basics of entrepreneurship. A total of 2,542 people have registered for the training, meaning the target has been achieved at 119.3%.
The city also plans to provide 400 non-repayable grants to citizens. So far, 103 people have received grants. Meanwhile, 2,336 people have been referred to subsidized jobs.
Overall, 6,535 people have been employed in permanent positions to date.
Under the Shymkent Development Plan for 2026–2030 and through private initiatives, 9,446 new jobs are planned to be created this year. Of these, 9,086 are expected to be permanent positions and 360 temporary.
As of now, 9,429 jobs have been created, representing 99.8% of the target.
