Construction of a modern rehabilitation center for people requiring specialized care is progressing on schedule in Shymkent. The socially significant project is under the close supervision of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The new 150-bed facility will provide comprehensive medical and social rehabilitation services for people with Group I and Group II disabilities. The project aims to improve quality of life, promote social inclusion, and expand access to high-quality rehabilitation services.
Construction of the 5.3-hectare complex began in December 2024. The center will consist of five buildings, including a three-story rehabilitation unit, a two-story inpatient facility, a therapeutic swimming pool, a sports hall, a 150-seat auditorium, a spacious cafeteria, and modern rehabilitation rooms.
The facility will offer comprehensive rehabilitation programs for patients with disorders of the nervous system, sensory organs, and musculoskeletal system. A multidisciplinary team of specialists will provide physical, psychological, and social support tailored to each patient’s needs.
The total project cost is 14 billion tenge, with approximately 10 billion tenge already invested. Interior finishing works and landscaping are currently underway.
According to the authorities, construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year, after which the center will begin accepting patients.
The development of social infrastructure and the expansion of accessible, high-quality services for vulnerable groups remain among the key priorities of Kazakhstan’s social policy. The project continues to be closely monitored by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
