Akim of the Turkistan Region Nuralkhan Kusherov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sailas Thangal.
The parties discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in investment, industry, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.
During the meeting, the regional governor highlighted the Turkistan Region’s socio-economic development and emphasized that favorable conditions have been created for foreign investors. He also invited Indian companies to participate in joint investment projects.
“The Turkistan Region offers significant opportunities for investment. We are ready to build mutually beneficial partnerships in industry, agriculture, and tourism. Turkistan International Airport has strong potential, and the region is fully prepared to welcome international visitors. The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage are expected to attract considerable interest from Indian tourists,” Nuralkhan Kusherov said.
Ambassador Sailas Thangal noted the strong potential for expanding cooperation between India and Kazakhstan. According to him, around 50 million Indian citizens travel abroad every year, making Turkistan a promising destination for Indian tourists.
The Indian side also expressed interest in cooperation in uranium production, agriculture, tourism, the cotton cluster, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy. In addition, proposals were discussed to build an international-standard hospital in the region and implement joint projects in agriculture and the food industry.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral ties, expand investment and business cooperation, and continue working together on promising joint initiatives across these strategic sectors.
