Construction of the Turan Water Park, a major tourism and entertainment complex built to international standards, is progressing in the Turan Special Economic Zone in the city of Turkistan.
The project is being developed by Turkistan Onelee Cultural Tourism Investments Co. Ltd., which is investing KZT 13.4 billion in the facility.
Covering a total area of 11.7 hectares, the tourism and recreation complex is being implemented in three phases. Construction began in March this year, with the first phase scheduled for completion and commissioning in August.
The initial phase will include a visitor reception and registration center, changing facilities, water attractions, swimming areas, and a circular water park. Construction of the first stage is now nearing completion.
The following phases will add family recreation areas, a hotel, a restaurant, world-class water attractions, and large wave pools. Once fully operational, the complex is expected to welcome up to 200,000 visitors annually while creating new jobs for the region.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in 2028. Construction progress is being monitored by Turkistan Region Governor Nuralkhan Kusherov.
The large-scale development is expected to provide a significant boost to Turkistan’s ambition of becoming an international tourism destination while enhancing the region’s investment attractiveness.
