Modern methods of cancer treatment are being introduced in Shymkent, providing patients with complex cases access to high-tech medical care.
The Oncology Center of the Shymkent City Multidisciplinary Hospital offers advanced diagnostic and treatment methods. The Chemotherapy and Endovascular Oncology Department performs endovascular chemoembolization for tumors of the liver, pancreas and uterus, as well as radiofrequency ablation for liver tumors.
These procedures are performed using modern angiographic equipment that enables precise navigation to the tumor site and targeted treatment through endovascular and X-ray surgical techniques.
The procedures are carried out by oncologist-chemotherapist and vascular surgeon, PhD Davran Isametov, who has 14 years of professional experience, and vascular surgeon, X-ray and interventional surgeon Nurzhan Nurbayev, a Category II specialist with eight years of experience.
Some patients sought medical assistance after their disease had already reached Stage IV and their overall condition was severe. Following treatment, a reduction in tumor size and positive changes in their general condition were observed.
The Oncology Center’s Surgical Department also performs high-tech laparoscopic procedures for kidney tumors, including laparoscopic nephrectomy and laparoscopic kidney resection.
The main advantages of laparoscopic surgery include reduced surgical trauma and blood loss, less postoperative pain, faster recovery and an earlier return to normal daily activities.
The procedures were performed by Talgat Kurmanov, Director of the City Multidisciplinary Hospital with the Oncology Center, a top-category oncourologist and PhD, and Shalkarbek Mugalbekov, Head of the Surgical Department, Master of Medicine and top-category oncourologist.
Before surgery, the patient underwent a full range of necessary clinical and instrumental examinations, confirming the diagnosis of a kidney tumor. The surgical procedure was completed successfully, and the postoperative period has been free of complications.
The patient’s current condition is stable, and he is feeling well and continuing rehabilitation.
According to specialists, the use of modern endovascular and laparoscopic technologies improves the effectiveness of cancer treatment and expands medical care options for patients with complex cases.
The Oncology Center of the Shymkent City Multidisciplinary Hospital continues to develop high-tech medical care and improve access to modern treatment methods for patients with cancer.
