An open meeting with investors was held in Turkistan to discuss investment project support, the removal of administrative barriers, investor rights protection and measures to improve the region’s investment climate.
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Zhandos Umirgaliev, Akim of Turkistan Region Nuralhan Kosherov, Regional Prosecutor Bauyrzhan Myrzakerov, heads of government agencies, entrepreneurs and investors.
Zhandos Umirgaliev noted that the decision made by the Head of State had become an important step towards improving Kazakhstan’s investment climate. Under the Presidential Decree, the Prosecutor General was granted the functions of Investment Ombudsman, while the Committee for the Protection of Investors’ Rights was established as its working body.
According to him, the committee’s key objective is not only to respond to problems after they arise, but also to prevent them whenever possible. Investors should be confident that their rights will be protected.
Prosecutors currently support 219 investment projects in the Turkistan Region with a total value of KZT 3.2 trillion. Of these, 175 projects are included in the National Investment Pool and 44 in the regional pool.
Since the beginning of the year, the rights of 27 investors involved in projects worth a total of KZT 920 billion have been protected, while 30 investment cases have been resolved. In addition, prosecutors refused to approve 25 unlawful administrative cases and halted unjustified inspections involving 23 investors.
One of the practical results of investor support was the resolution of an issue related to the Central Asia Aluminum Company project. As part of the KZT 4.4 billion aluminium profile manufacturing project, the company secured the required volume of natural gas. As a result, production was launched and 200 new jobs were created.
The prosecutorial review also helped prevent a decision that could have obstructed the implementation of a project by Karkin Trade LLP to build a meat-processing plant worth more than KZT 10 billion. The investor obtained the necessary permits and began construction.
Direct engagement with investors has also been strengthened in the region. As part of the Invest Caravan 2026 initiative, 29 meetings with investors were held in cities and districts across the region.
The First Deputy Prosecutor General emphasized that investment project support, prosecutorial review, the resolution of systemic problems and pre-trial dispute settlement are among the key mechanisms for protecting investors’ rights.
“Resolving one investor’s problem means saving one project. Resolving a systemic problem opens the way for dozens or hundreds of projects,” Zhandos Umirgaliev said.
Nationwide, prosecutors are currently supporting more than 3,000 investment projects. In 2025, Turkistan Region exceeded its annual target by more than four times. This year, 67 projects worth approximately KZT 370 billion have been included in the region’s investment pool.
