Kazakhstan continues to implement systematic measures aimed at developing employment opportunities and improving the labor market.
Government initiatives focused on creating new jobs, expanding employment opportunities, and providing citizens with stable incomes are showing positive results.
As of July 1, 2026, a total of 249,598 people in Kazakhstan have been employed. Since the beginning of the year, 96,415 citizens have secured permanent jobs. Compared with the same period last year, the number of people who found permanent employment has increased by more than 30,000 people.
Today, the majority of employed citizens have received permanent positions, providing them with stable income and full social benefits.
Kazakhstan Sees a Decline in Temporary Employment
Positive changes are also being observed in the structure of the labor market. While temporary employment previously accounted for a significant share of jobs, current efforts are focused on expanding long-term employment opportunities.
The number of people engaged in temporary jobs has decreased from 115,960 to 76,953 people. This indicates a transition toward a more sustainable employment model.
The growth in permanent employment is the result of comprehensive government measures aimed at developing the labor market. Cooperation with employers is expanding, digital services of the Enbek.kz electronic labor exchange are being improved, and vocational training programs and employment support measures are being implemented in line with the actual needs of the economy.
Youth Unemployment Rate in Kazakhstan Remains at 3%
Positive trends are also reflected in the country’s main labor market indicators.
According to the results of the first quarter of this year, the number of employed people in Kazakhstan reached 9.392 million people. The number of wage workers increased by approximately 150,000 people.
The overall unemployment rate in Kazakhstan remains at 4.5%, while the unemployment rate among young people stands at 3%.
Kazakhstan to Continue Creating Quality Jobs
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, further efforts will focus on creating quality jobs, increasing labor productivity, and developing citizens’ professional skills.
The main objective is to ensure that every citizen has access to official employment with decent wages, stable income, and properly formalized labor relations.
The creation of permanent jobs remains one of the key tools for improving living standards, strengthening economic stability, and ensuring social development in Kazakhstan.
