The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained the new rules for users of electric scooters for rent.
From July 1, new requirements for the use of rental electric scooters came into force.
So:
- The scooter will be given a registration number. In this way, the scooters that break the law will be detected by cameras.
- A citizen using a scooter is required to have an insurance policy. And kicksharing companies are obliged to ensure the technical condition of electric scooters, control their speed and location, automatically limit speed at the designated place, prevent them from being left out of order, keep records of scooters, and send the necessary information to internal affairs bodies.
- If the scooter user does not have a driver’s license, he should not drive on the road. This should be strictly controlled by the service. We remind you that electric scooters must ride on a bike path or bike lane. Alternatively, you can drive on the right side of the road, on the side of the road, on the sidewalk or on the sidewalk.
- When walking on the pavement, the speed should not exceed 6 kilometers per hour. However, from August 25, electric scooters will be banned from walking on sidewalks and footpaths. Driving on the side of the road is allowed only to people over 18 years old, with any category of driver’s license and a special helmet. It is prohibited to transport passengers and cargo with an electric scooter and to cross the road without getting off the scooter at a pedestrian crossing, as well as to drive on a road without reflective elements in the dark.
