Governor of the Turkistan Region Nuralkhan Kusherov met with residents of the Sauran District to discuss local development issues in an open dialogue.
During the meeting, the governor outlined the implementation of the President’s directives, reviewed the region’s socio-economic progress, and presented ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life as well as key projects planned for the coming period.
In the first six months of 2026, a total of 34 investment projects worth KZT 23 billion were launched at the district’s industrial sites, creating 894 new jobs.
Last year, two schools and a rehabilitation center were commissioned in the district. In the agricultural sector, a livestock feedlot with a capacity of 5,000 head of cattle was launched. In addition, a 150-seat cultural center, a library, and a sports complex were opened, while the construction of another sports complex is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
The governor noted that the issues raised during last year’s meeting with local residents remain under close supervision. Of the ten issues previously submitted, five have already been fully resolved, while work on two others is ongoing. Among the completed projects is the provision of electricity to a livestock feedlot and slaughter facility with a capacity of 15,000 head in the Yeski Ikan rural district. Construction has also begun on a two-family residential building in the Shaga rural district and a three-story, 24-apartment residential building in the village of Shornak. Both projects are expected to be completed by the end of the year. In addition, a nine-kilometer section of the road connecting Babaykorgan and Igilik villages is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Residents also raised questions regarding the construction of a Palace of Schoolchildren, full natural gas coverage of rural communities, improvements to public transportation and internet services, as well as access to concessional loans for agricultural producers.
In response, Nuralkhan Kusherov instructed the relevant regional departments and the district administration to ensure that each issue is addressed in stages and in accordance with the law.
Following the public meeting, the governor held a personal reception for residents. Citizens raised concerns related to housing, street lighting, road infrastructure, land allocation for business development, the construction of a social services center, utility infrastructure, and issues in the education sector.
Each appeal was carefully reviewed, and responsible officials were assigned specific tasks. The implementation of these instructions will remain under the governor’s personal supervision, while several issues were resolved immediately during the reception.
