The Taza Kazakhstan campaign is bringing together millions of people across Kazakhstan and is gradually becoming an integral part of the country’s everyday culture of environmental responsibility.
These large-scale initiatives are delivering tangible results, including clean-up campaigns, tree planting, the elimination of illegal waste disposal sites, and solutions to environmental concerns raised by citizens.
This year, 500 environmental initiatives have been held across the country as part of the Taza Kazakhstan campaign. Approximately 6.1 million people took part, including 741,000 volunteers.
Around 117,000 hectares of land were cleaned, and more than 813,000 tonnes of waste were collected. As part of efforts to improve and green urban and rural areas, nearly 1.2 million trees were planted.
Modern technologies are making it possible to identify illegal waste disposal sites even in remote areas. In 2026, 2,642 illegal landfills were detected through satellite monitoring. To date, 2,035, or 77%, have been eliminated, while work continues at the remaining sites.
At the same time, the number of illegal waste disposal sites identified has declined significantly over the long term. While more than 8,600 sites were recorded in 2018, the figure has now decreased by more than threefold.
Another important tool of the Taza Kazakhstan campaign is @TazaQazBot, a digital service created to help communities promptly address local improvement and environmental issues.
This year, the chatbot received more than 18,000 requests, of which over 16,000 have been resolved. The requests cover 21 categories, ranging from cleaning public areas and waste removal to street improvements, landscaping, lighting, and road repairs.
The service is also available through eGov Mobile, and the total number of requests processed nationwide has now exceeded 50,000.
