The head of state received German Federal Minister of Economy and Energy Katerina Reiche.
During the meeting, the President noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of strategic partnership with the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Germany is one of the largest trade and investment partners of our country.
Positive dynamics are observed in bilateral trade and investment cooperation. Since 2005, more than 8 billion dollars have been directly invested in the economy of Kazakhstan. Most of it belongs to the non-oil sector. Today, more than a thousand companies with a share of German capital are successfully operating in the country. Among them are industrial giants such as CLAAS, Horsch, Siemens, BASF, Heidelberg Materials, Siemens Energy, Knauf and Linde, the Head of State said.
The President confirmed that the Kazakh side is ready to create the necessary conditions for German business to come more to our market.
Kassym-Jomart Tokaev talked about the large-scale political changes that are taking place in the country.
He said that the main principles defining the direction of development of Kazakhstan as a democratic, secular, legal and prosperous state were reflected in the new Constitution.
During the meeting, Katerina Raikhe thanked the President for the opportunity to discuss the current issues of the bilateral agenda and spoke about significant achievements in social and economic development of Kazakhstan.
The minister also said that Kazakhstan is Germany’s largest trade and economic partner in the region, and that there is a lot of potential for expanding bilateral cooperation. At the meeting, special attention was paid to the prospect of revitalizing cooperation in the fields of energy, industry, digitization, production and processing of rare metals, transport and logistics infrastructure.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent his warm wishes to the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Chancellor Friedrich Mertz.
