A large-scale clean-up campaign was held in Zhetisay District, bringing together nearly 3,000 residents. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and strengthen measures to prevent steppe fires.
The campaign involved employees of government and quasi-government organizations, representatives of the education and healthcare sectors, municipal service workers, volunteers, active young people and local residents.
As part of the campaign, parks and recreational areas in settlements, as well as areas along highways, were cleared of household waste. Dry grass and bushes that could increase the risk of fires were collected and transported to designated areas.
Warning signs and information banners were also installed near steppe and forest areas to raise public awareness and help prevent fires.
According to specialists, most steppe fires that occur during the summer are caused by human activity. Therefore, preventive measures play an important role not only in protecting the environment but also in increasing public responsibility for nature conservation and fire safety.
The large-scale clean-up campaign was part of ongoing efforts to protect the environment, maintain sanitary cleanliness and prevent natural emergencies. Under the instruction of Zhetisay District Akim Serik Mamytov, environmental campaigns and clean-up activities continue to be held regularly throughout the year.
