The green zone along the road leading to the new airport will be expanded. Landscaping and maintenance works are continuing across an area of 240 hectares.
Around 730,000 tree seedlings have already been planted in the area. The entire site is equipped with a drip irrigation system.
To improve the survival rate of the trees, an additional well is currently being drilled to increase irrigation capacity. Work is also underway to install power lines, modernize the drip irrigation system and introduce automated irrigation.
Deputy Akim of the region Nurbol Turashbekov inspected the site and reviewed the progress of the ongoing work. He emphasized the importance of taking weather conditions and soil characteristics into account when adjusting the irrigation schedule, as well as selecting appropriate fertilizers.
Maintenance of the forest plantations is carried out on a regular basis. To further expand the green zone, an additional 80,000 deciduous tree seedlings are planned to be planted this autumn, including elm, Russian olive and mulberry trees.
