Several major industrial projects are planned for implementation in the Turkistan Region.
In particular, an automated plant for the synthesis of polymer dispersions will be built on a 2-hectare site within the Turan Special Economic Zone in Turkistan. A cellulose production plant using cotton and straw is also planned on a 3.1-hectare site, while a sunflower oil processing plant will be constructed on a 2-hectare plot.
The projects were presented at a regular meeting of the regional investment headquarters chaired by Turkistan Region Akim Nuralhan Kusherov.
The meeting focused on new investment projects, their implementation prospects and economic efficiency. Project initiators discussed key implementation issues with the regional authorities.
The regional akim instructed responsible officials to provide comprehensive support to investors, create favourable conditions for project implementation and ensure that construction is completed within the established deadlines.
“Our main task is not only to attract new investment to the region, but also to ensure tangible results for every project. We must create the necessary conditions for investors and promptly resolve any issues that arise during implementation. Priority should be given to projects that create new jobs, increase production and strengthen the economic potential of districts and cities,” Nuralhan Kusherov said.
He also noted that land plots would be allocated within special economic zones. If construction does not begin within six months, the land will be returned to state ownership.
Investors also presented new projects planned for the region. The projects received support, with construction of several facilities expected to begin as early as September.
New Projects in Sauran District
Several investment projects will also be implemented in Sauran District. A plant producing urea fertilizers is planned within the Turan Special Economic Zone in Sauran. Another project involves the construction of a 17-hectare plant producing tires for trucks and buses. This will be the first project of its kind to be implemented in Kazakhstan.
In addition, an 8-hectare site in the village of Shoytobe, Iassy rural district of Sauran District, is planned for a facility for storing liquefied hydrocarbon gas and loading it into road tankers via a railway loading platform.
Projects in Other Districts
Industrial projects are also planned in Maktaaral District. A spinning mill is expected to be built on a 5-hectare site within the Turan Special Economic Zone in the Zhambyl rural district.
In Sairam District, a warehouse complex is being developed.
At the meeting, the akims of Zhetysai District Serik Usenuly and Shardara District Arman Romanuly also reported on efforts to attract foreign investment and investment projects planned for implementation in 2026.
The launch of these projects is expected to strengthen the region’s manufacturing sector, increase production, create new jobs and expand the range of locally produced goods.
Work to support investment projects and create favourable conditions for investors will continue. The implementation of projects approved by the investment headquarters remains under the constant supervision of the regional akim.
Overall, efforts to attract investment to the Turkistan Region are producing significant results. Over the past eight years, a total of 7.57 trillion tenge has been invested in the region’s economy, contributing to the opening of new production facilities and the creation of permanent jobs.
