Preparations for the upcoming heating season are nearing completion across Kazakhstan, with 98% of educational and healthcare facilities now ready, according to a report presented at a Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
Minister of Industry and Construction Yersaiyn Nagasspayev briefed the meeting on the progress of preparations across the country.
According to the ministry, 10,693 out of 10,913 educational facilities have completed preparations, representing 98% of the total. Eight regions have already completed preparations at all educational facilities. However, Almaty and Aktobe regions are currently behind schedule.
Healthcare facilities have reached the same overall readiness level. Of the 5,394 facilities nationwide, 5,281 are ready for the heating season. Six regions have completed preparations at all healthcare facilities, while Shymkent and Almaty are showing comparatively lower readiness rates.
Preparations are also underway in the residential sector. Heating-season preparations have been completed in 51,391 residential buildings, or 96% of the planned total.
Turkistan Region has completed preparations for all residential buildings. At the same time, the pace of work in East Kazakhstan Region and the city of Shymkent remains below the expected level.
The Government has instructed the relevant authorities and regional administrations to complete the remaining preparations on schedule and ensure the reliable operation of heating infrastructure ahead of the new heating season.
