The regional qualifying tournament in Kazakh kuresi among adults, titled “Turkistan Barysy,” has concluded at the “Karasu” sports complex located in the new residential area of Karasu village in Sairam District. The winners of the traditional competition will now represent the region at the national “Qazaqstan Barysy” tournament.
In the over 90 kg weight category, 26 of the best wrestlers from cities and districts across the Turkistan Region competed for the prestigious title of “Turkistan Barysy.” The competition was held at a high level, providing spectators with exciting and memorable moments.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Sairam District Akim Madiyar Orazaliyev and Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Turkistan Region Galymzhan Khudiyarov. They wished the participants success and expressed gratitude for their contribution to the development of national sports.
Following the results of the tournament, Abdugani Bibarys, a wrestler representing Sauran District, won the bronze medal.
The final match brought together Kaysar Shamshidinov from Shardara District and Meirzhan Abdimaliikov from Saryagash District. In the decisive bout, Kaysar Shamshidinov demonstrated outstanding skill, strength, and determination, defeating his opponent and securing the title of “Turkistan Barysy-2026.”
The champion was awarded a special belt and a certificate worth 500,000 tenge. The second-place winner received a certificate worth 300,000 tenge, while the third-place winner was awarded a certificate worth 200,000 tenge.
It should be noted that Kaysar Shamshidinov and Meirzhan Abdimaliikov, who took first and second places in the regional qualifying tournament, will represent the Turkistan Region at the national “Qazaqstan Barysy” tournament, which will be held on August 15 in Astana.
