Boxing world champion Birzhan Zhakypov cast his ballot at polling station No. 107. The renowned athlete emphasized that citizens should actively participate in the country’s first-ever Kurultai elections.
According to Elmira Tezekbayeva, chairwoman of the local election commission, a total of 1,611 citizens are registered to vote at the polling station.
“Kurultai elections are one of the most important events in the country’s social and political life. The key significance of the Kurultai lies in strengthening the connection between society and the state. Today, residents and young people are actively participating and making their choice.
What we need most at this time is unity and solidarity. We must all preserve and value these principles,” B. Zhakypov said.
It is worth noting that residents have been actively turning out at the polling station since early morning to exercise their right to vote.
